Promotions are rules that checkout applies for you. Create one, set what it covers and when it runs, and the cashier never has to remember it. When several promotions match, the best price for the customer wins.
Why it matters
Weekend deals, a discount on slow movers, a bundle for the festival season: promotions bring people in, and applying them automatically means every customer gets the same price and the receipt shows it.
Discounts
- Percent or Fixed amount off.
- Applies to: specific products, categories or subcategories, or Store-wide.
- When: active dates, plus optional Recurring weekdays and a start and end time (for example Saturdays from 5 to 8).
- A live example shows one matching product with its before and after price.
Combos
- Build a combo from slots: each slot is a quantity of eligible products or categories (2 of any dal, 1 of any rice).
- Pricing options: Bundle price, Percent off, Fixed amount off or Cheapest free (the classic 3 for 2).
- Only products and categories marked Combo eligible can be used, so a combo never accidentally includes something you did not intend.
- Checkout shows the Combo savings as soon as the cart fills every slot.
Managing them
- Statuses: Active now, Scheduled, Expired, Paused, Needs review. Pause with one switch.
- Editing changes future sales only; completed sales keep the price they were charged.
- Deleting stops the promotion from applying again but keeps the discount on past receipts.
