A Windows PC, an internet connection, and optional hardware: barcode scanner, receipt printer, cash drawer.
For: Everyone3 min
Required
A Windows PC at the counter. A laptop works too. A touch screen is nice but not required.
Internet. Charging a sale needs a connection. See Internet and offline for what still works without it.
Your license key or the free trial. Your provider gives you a key. If you want to try first, the app offers a free 14-day trial on the activation screen.
Optional hardware
Barcode scanner (USB). Use a scanner that types the code like a keyboard and presses Enter. That is how most cheap USB scanners work. Plug it in; no setup in the app.
Receipt printer. A thermal printer with 58 mm or 80 mm paper, connected by USB and set as the Windows default printer. You pick it and the paper width in Settings.
Cash drawer. A drawer that connects to your receipt printer. The app can pop it open from Settings and when you take cash.
Card terminal. The terminal from your bank stays separate. You charge the card on it, then record the card payment in the POS.
