Back up and restore settings

Take a snapshot of your settings and catalog, and put it back if something breaks.

For: Admin3 min

Create a backup before big changes: a price update, a new tax setting, reorganising categories. Restore only when you are sure the snapshot is the state you want back.

Before you start

  • You are signed in as an admin.
  • The app is online.

Steps

  1. Tap Settings, then the Backup tab.
  2. Tap Create Manual Backup and wait for Backup created. It appears under Backup history with its date.
  3. To restore: find the snapshot under Backup history and tap Restore.
  4. Read Restore backup?, then tap Restore backup to confirm. Wait for Backup restored.
  5. Open Inventory → Catalog and the other Settings tabs to confirm they look right.

Check it worked

  • The new entry is listed under Backup history with Created and the date.
  • After a restore, the entry shows Restored and the date.
