The caja is your business day for one terminal. It lives in the Caja panel on the Staff screen. Nothing can be charged until it is open, and it closes with a cash count so you know exactly whether the drawer matches.
Why it matters
Cash is where small stores lose money without noticing. A caja that opens with a counted float and closes with a counted drawer turns "I think we are short" into a number, every single day.
Key capabilities
- Open Caja with the Opening Cash counted in the drawer.
- One caja per terminal. Each PC has its own, named after its Terminal ID. Two counters, two cajas.
- Register Expense / Income for cash that leaves or enters the drawer outside of sales: ice, a delivery paid in cash, change brought from the bank.
- Print Summary any time to see sales by method, entries and the net total on paper.
- Close Caja with the Closing Cash Count and optional notes.
- Reconciliation on close: opening cash, cash sales, expected in drawer, counted, and the Variance.
- Later, the Session View report shows any past session with its top products and staff activity.
Shifts are separate
Each person also starts their own shift when they sign in (with their drawer float) and ends it with Clock Out and a closing count. The caja is the store's day; the shift is one person's day. Both are on the Staff screen.
