The app locks itself after a period of no activity so nobody can use the terminal while you are away. Nothing is lost: the cart, the held sale and your session stay as they were.
Before you start
- You see Screen Locked with Enter any staff member’s PIN to unlock.
Steps
- Type your PIN on the keypad. Any staff member’s PIN unlocks the screen; the person who was signed in stays signed in.
- Continue where you left off.
- To change the delay (admin only): tap Settings, then Auto-Lock Timeout, set Lock after (seconds) within the range shown, and tap Save Timeout.
Check it worked
- The overlay disappears and the previous screen is visible with the same cart.
- After saving, you see Auto-lock timeout saved.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | What to do |

| Incorrect PIN. Try again. | Retype slowly. Any colleague’s PIN also works. If nobody can unlock, an admin can reset a PIN from another terminal. |
| The app was closed while locked and opens locked again | That is expected: closing the app does not bypass the lock. Enter a PIN. |
| It locks too often during busy hours | Ask an admin to raise Lock after (seconds) under Settings → Auto-Lock Timeout. |
| The scanner does not respond while locked | Scanning is disabled while locked. Unlock first. |
