Add your products

Categories, products with barcodes and prices, items sold by weight, cases sold by the piece, and importing from a photo or file.

Your catalog lives in Inventory → Catalog. Add categories first, then products. You do not need everything on day one — you can also create a product while receiving a shipment, and cashiers can search by name for anything that has no barcode yet.

Categories

  1. Open Inventory, then the Catalog tab, then Categories.
  2. Press Add root category. Give it a name and a color. Examples: Spices, Rice & Flour, Snacks, Frozen, Drinks.
  3. Add subcategories under a category if it helps you find things. Up to three levels.

Products

  1. In Catalog → Products, press Add product.
  2. Fill in Name, Category and Base price (the shelf price).
  3. Click in Barcode and scan the package. The scanner types the code for you. You can also type it.
  4. Optional: SKU, Brand, Pack weight and Weight unit, a Photo.
  5. Keep Active on. Turn it off later to hide a product from checkout without deleting it.
  6. Press Create product.

Items sold by weight

Loose rice, dals, spices or sweets sold by the kilo are products marked as sold by weight, priced per kilo. At checkout the cashier gets an Enter weight box and the app multiplies weight by price. Marking a product as sold by weight is not something you can switch on yourself in the catalog yet — tell support which products are loose when you set up, and they will flag them for you. Pack weight and Weight unit on a product are different: they describe a packaged item (a 500 g bag, for example) and work as a filter at checkout.

Cases sold by the piece

If you buy a case of 24 and sell single pieces, fill in Units per package on the case product. Then create the single-piece product and set its Linked package product to the case. At the counter you open a case from Inventory → Open Units, and every piece sold counts down from that open case.

Import from a photo, PDF or CSV

The AI Assistant (the chat button in the sidebar, available on the full plan) can read a price list you drop into it — a photo, a PDF or a CSV — and show a preview of product names and prices. Check the preview, then press Confirm import. It imports names and prices only; add barcodes and categories afterwards. See AI assistant.
