Use this when a customer forgot an item or their card, and someone else is waiting. One sale can be held per terminal at a time.
Before you start
- You are on Checkout with items in the Cart.
- No sale is already held on this terminal.
Steps
- Tap Hold under the cart. The cart empties and a Sale held badge appears at the top.
- Serve the next customer as usual.
- When the first customer returns, tap Resume on the Sale held badge. Their items come back into the cart.
- Tap Process payment to finish.
- If the customer never comes back, tap Discard on the badge and confirm Discard. Nothing was charged.
Check it worked
- While held, the Sale held badge with Resume and Discard is visible on Checkout.
- After Resume, the cart shows the same items and Cart total as before.
If something goes wrong

| The Hold button is greyed out | A sale is already held. Resume or discard it first; the app keeps only one held sale per terminal. |
| You tapped Resume while the current cart had items | The two carts swap: the held items become the active cart and the current items become the held sale. Tap Resume again to swap back. |
| The app was closed while a sale was held | The held sale is kept on this terminal. Open Checkout and tap Resume. |
