Two tools, pick one. Edit ticket corrects items, quantities or notes and records the difference in the register. Reopen ticket voids the original payment, lets you change the items, and you charge the customer again. Every change needs a manager PIN and is kept in Edit History.
Before you start
- The register is open (price or quantity changes need it).
- You know exactly what was wrong: wrong item, wrong quantity, or wrong payment method.
Steps
- Tap Payments and find the sale under Recent Payments.
- To correct without re-charging: tap Edit ticket. Change Qty:, Unit price or Notes, use Add item or Remove, type a Reason and tap Save correction. Enter the manager PIN.
- To change the payment or redo the sale: tap Reopen ticket, type a Reason, tap Request approval and enter the manager PIN. The original payment is voided.
- The reopened sale now appears under Tabs Awaiting Payment on the left. Tap Edit items on its row to add or remove products, then Save changes with the manager PIN.
- Select the sale under Tabs Awaiting Payment, tap Verify PIN to Process Payment, and charge it with the correct method.
Check it worked
- After Edit ticket: Ticket correction saved. and the row shows the corrected total.
- After a reopen and recharge: a new payment appears under Recent Payments and nothing is left under Tabs Awaiting Payment.
- Edit History lists the change with your reason.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| No caja session is open … | Open the register on Staff first. Notes-only edits work without it, price and quantity changes do not. |
| The window to reopen this ticket has expired. | Old sales cannot be reopened. Use Refund for the wrong items and ring up a new sale. |
| This ticket has already been reopened the maximum number of times allowed. | Use Refund and a new sale instead. |
| This tab can no longer be edited. | The sale was refunded or reopened. Find the current version of it in the list. |
| You reopened but the customer already left | Charge it again with the same method they used so the register balances. |
